Welcome to the newPA16 website...
by Lois K. Herr, Senior Editor

At least 78,000 voters in PA-16 think we need change in Washington.  Fortunately, enough voters across the country saw that need as well and elected a Democratic Congress.  While I am disappointed not to be part of the 110th Congress, I am indeed happy to see the progress Democrats and thinking Republicans are making so early in the session.

Our Congressman Joe Pitts is not a part of that progress.  We must stay alert and be aware of what votes are taking place and how our district might be affected.

We must keep the spirit alive right here in the 16th Congressional District - in Berks, Chester, and Lancaster Counties. Those of us deeply involved in the 2006 Herr for Congress Campaign are committed personally to staying involved.  We know that many of the enthusiastic volunteers for our campaign and others in the District want to keep working to elect Democrats.  We must admit we enjoyed working together for a good cause and want to stay together in some way.

This new website will do the following: track both Pitts and Casey votes, provide information for the voters of the 16th, create a place for the discussion of issues relevant to our District, and keep us together for the future.  We welcome your input as we launch this site - please send comments to editor@newpa16.com.
